Sunday Morning Deep Dive: Compassion Special

Welcome to Sunday Morning Deep Dive: Compassion Special, with your hosts: Clarabelle Gerard and Phil Robson, live from Wirksworth Town Hall!

A nostalgic haze belies a profound exploration, in this meta talk show, that indulges in the framing of mass media, whilst staging a genuine conversation on the topic of compassion. With a guestlist of social activists and academics, and the absurd trappings of light entertainment, (including a circus performer and a house band), Sunday Morning Deep Dive is a heartfelt satire offering an alternative narrative, produced by local social arts groups: Two Headed Films and Little Canyon Collective.

Part multimedia performance, part public debate, this two hour Sunday morning event will both entertain and educate. So join us on the 15th of September, Sunday morning, for a Deep Dive!

15th Sept – 11am – 1pm – Wirksworth Town Hall, as part of Wirksworth Arts Festival

In Development: The Unwanted – Short Film

To be shot in the Derbyshire Dales

A short atmospheric thriller set in the local area, written and directed by John Casey (under pen name J M F Casey). The film is a gothic parable about a young woman facing and defeating the worst demon of her abandonment, and in this way explores the theme of abandonment, and the mental health issues and manipulation from toxic adults to which an abandoned child is prone. In the production process, Two Headed Films will consciously act to engage the local community and fulfil its social remit, through bringing opportunities in film to the local area and actively engaging those with low access to the arts through an education program in tandem with the production.
